Brief overview of some of the main features: Highly networkable system for creating mp3s. Rip the cds on machine A and B. Encode on machine B and C and use machine D as final storage. All this will be running at the same time. Each ripper can request the content to be routed to a specific storage server. A central configuration daemon can take "registrations" to the network from components and announce them to other components needing the features. For example "Machine foobar.domain now have an encoding component at port 12345, able to encode n kilobyte per second (or 'with priority I')" Most of the networking framework is ready, so if you want to help speak up!
